after some early morning showers as we sailed into Maui with humpback
whales putting on a show ...we arrived at 11am to sunny skies and 78*
temps... we tendered in to the town.. sorta reminded me a little of Key
West but higher end with all the shops and restaurants .... we walked
around for a few hours before our tour began at 5pm--a Catamaran Sunset
Sail.. what a super great tour.. a young crew that knew what they were
doing.. had a couple of beers with some finger food and fresh fruit
aboard... with all the whales in the area we got 'captured' by a
mother whale and her baby that kept on circling us for nearly an
hour... up close and personal as close to us to almost reach out and
touch them... rules prevented the Captain from motoring away from them
so the Captain ordered the sails hoisted ... we almost forgot about the
Sunset... the two hours were well spent and a fun trip.. back on the
dock I noticed fuel prices... Unleaded Gas $ 5.18 a gallon... Diesel a
bargain at $4.91 a gallon...
