Day 32--at Sea

Happy Halloween from the Pacific Ocean as we sail halfway between San Diego and Honolulu this early morning at Sunrise.. lots of clouds but an eerie orangy-pumpkin Sunrise peeking thru just the same..

after lunch with the gang it was off to Trivia-- 3rd day in a row we came in 2nd... snapped a couple of the ship's staff dept Pumpkin pics then it was out on the Lido Deck-aft for some rays.. where in the heck did all these peeps come from.. 80° and sunny... yowsa ..tonite we all dine in the Canaletto-- the Italyun specialty restaurant.. thatsa' nice :)

Day 31-- at Sea

day #2 at sea sailing toward Honolulu.. clouds all day.. suxxx..  gala formal nite in the Dining Room.. we all went to see the show in the showroom.. singers and dancers put on another fabulous performance.. they are always our favorite shows with the ship's cast..never disappoint

BTW.. this afternoon at 145pm the ship had a hiccup and lost all power as we bobbed away 800 miles out from San Diego and 1500 miles away from Hawaii.. after about an hour--probably less- all was well .. 2nd time this happened the last was in Puerto Vallarta but while docked.. they have no idea what the source of the problem is so said the Captain as he announced--sounded like a soft shoe and tap dance to me..  most likely it'll happen again.. should be an interesting 49 more days..  been there done that a few times in the past.. the way I see it.. better it happens on a ship than on a plane

Day 30-- at Sea

we begin Part 2 of our cruise sailing last nite from San Diego at 11pm westbound in the Pacific for 5 days at sea toward our next port of call-- Honolulu.. kewl air temps at 60°greeted me out on the Lido Deck at Sunrise this early morning along with 20 knot winds.. Ocean Water temps 64°.. brrrrrr.. ..still sat out on the deck mid-morning.. sunny.. but sweatshirt and shorts kinda weather our good friends from Long Island Barbara and Ron joined our gang onboard for these 51 days as we begin our sail to the South Pacific.. Pat and Nancy creating Lei's .. manly-man Mel a/k/a 'Vinny Bag of Donuts'  (Mel-Vin .. get it!!) doing the modeling for us all-- it don't get 'no more better-er' than that ..hahahaha :)

Day 29--San Diego

6am----waiting to hear the call for US Immigration happening onboard for those of us staying on for the next part of our cruise.. I was up on the Sports Deck just after 5am checking out the San Diego Skyline.. always impressive.. 56° ..hmmmm..a bit 'kewl'

earlier this morning right after having breakfast.. out on the Lido and Sports Decks.. a few of the 'locals' hanging out looking for handouts that of course I always provide..and why not

off the ship at 10am for a walk along the Harbor ..been here many times before.. .. passed by the US Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum .. the Kissing Sailor.. the Bob Hope tribute to the Troops.. nicely done.. beautiful Seaport.. 70° sunny..

uh oh.. it's Filippi's time.. time for an I-TAL-YUN lunch in Little Italy with our friends Mel and Nancy.. Ravioli Lasagna combo lunch platter.. Eggplant Parm hero.. Chianti.. thatsa' nice.. lovin' it.. great lunch.. plenty of super food.. always great at Filippi's
