lots of haze.. but oh a pretty morning

a drive over to the island and the beach just after 6am this morning.. e-z parking today on the west end at 40th street.. made sure I 'juiced-up' with insect repellent to avoid the biters along the dunes walkway to the beach-- still lots of standing water from last week's rain-- mosquitoes galore.. hot and humid .. 78* air temps.. 90% humidity.. plenty of the 'regulars'-- dog walkers and joggers-- already there with more on the way-- kept my distance .. a nice early morning..

hot and humid early morning

on over to the island at 6am.. parking was at a premium on this early Saturday morning.. still way too many peeps were out so decided once again to spare myself the 'mosquito connection' and stayed off the beach-- the mosquitos have been brutal the past week or so especially on the dunes walkways with lots of standing water.. sunny most of the day even with the forecast calling for rain thruout the late morning and afternoon.. a downpour at 530pm that lasted maybe 20 minutes..

more haze on an early Friday morning

a hot humid hazy early Friday morning as I drove over to the island to catch a sunrise.. no beach today as I stopped along the causeway just on the island side of the bridge.. on the drive home--stopped at the Lake.. no luck wetting a line as the water temps are in the mid-80's-- the dog-days of summer around here at least for fishing.. a nice Sun-Halo in the mid-afternoon at the house..

a hazy early morning at the beach

a hazy early morning as I got on to the beach before sunrise.. lots of low clouds once again.. the 'usual suspects'-- walkers ..dog-walkers and even a few bike-riders set off  from the 40th street beach access to the west toward the jetties 1.7 miles away as per their usual every morning.. I stayed away from them..the day turned into a hot hot hot 89* day with the sun shining and the humidity adding to the mix

before sunrise as I meandered on to the beach

ahhhh.. a nice early morning

I was off on the drive to the beach with clear skies in the forecast-- hoping anyway... finally after days of early morning clouds and some rain I was rewarded and smiling again.. what a beautiful morning

another sky full of clouds

.. and no sunrise as I drove over to the island at 6am.. stopped down by the Pier and beach for a look-see.. decided there wasn't a chance of a sunrise.. stopped along the causeway for a couple of pics as I headed back home ..a quick stop at the Lake.. all was quiet .. tried my luck 'wetting a line' for about 10 minutes.. no hits..  another dreary morning ..
