how sweet it is..

a lil' on the 'kewl' side at the beach before sunrise .. but oh so pretty .. 47* and light wind.. on this last day of 2019.. just quiet.. and nice.. just like I like it 'wet a line' at the lake on the drive back home ..stopped 'at the curve' on the dead-end at the Spanish Moss on the Live Oak tree across from the abandoned house that has been like that since the old man passed away about 20 or so years ago is still the same.. nestled right on the water on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) .. must be haunted.. I guess I shouldn't start a rumor should I Jeff D.. the old man had about a dozen goats that would always seem to be loose and walk right out onto Rt 179 in traffic way back when.. driving down the ICW in our boat we used to see them swimming across the waterway back and forth from 'Goat Island'--and truly appropriately named-- just sayin' .. when he 'passed on' the goats would always stay on the island until a couple of years ago when they were removed by who knows who.. now and then I'll see a couple still there walking along the bank across the way.. the good times  :)

a sunrise-- then it was gone

after looking out at yesterday's abysmal looking early morning weather inundated with heavy clouds it just wasn't fun to head out to the beach.. so I didn't...

but today---a quick sunrise then it was over-- the clouds won out but not before I snapped a few.. and why not.. 'wet a line' at the dock under the Sunset Beach Bridge with no takers..

just a reminder.. click on any pic to make it larger ..  click the pic again or go to the very bottom of the pics and click on any pic for a manual slideshow

clouds clouds everywhere

another totally overcast early morning at the sunrise hour.. 53*.. a lil' bit of mist with some of the streets wet as I drove thru Calabash on the way over to the beach-- that I never got to.. so stopped at the Lake on the mainland side of the Intracoastal Waterway(ICW) in Sunset Beach to 'wet a line'.. had 2 hits and 2 catches-- Largemouth Bass that was anything but large.. 2 lil' doods.. snapped this pic of one.. both back in the water-- caught them on a Yum Dinger plastic worm ..all my catches are of course 'catch and release' stayed overcast thru the day with the temps getting up to a nice feel-warm 73*

one must adapt-- a non-sunrise

an early overcast cloudy morning at 48* made for a non-sunrise at the beach.. decided instead to 'wet a line' in the backwaters along the Sunset Beach (NC) island causeway-- high tide so that was a no-go... off to the small pier across and under the bridge on the mainland.. after about 20 minutes of plugging only two bites but no hookups--I was looking for the elusive Red Drum (RedFish) or Speckled Trout.. continuing the short drive back home I stopped at the Lake about a half mile away with again two bites and no hookups.. a few birds were around looking for breakfast along the banks.. one must adapt UPDATE: 10am the sun is shining.. blue skies ..warmed up a bit to 72* lovin' it
