at the beach.. down to Charleston

a pretty early morning beach day at 530am .. 68* once again...so nice out we decided to do a day trip down to one of our favorite places --nearby Charleston .. it's about a 2.5 hour drive straight down Rt 17 from the house.. a pleasant day to walk around the Battery and Rainbow Row

CHARLESTON-- a day trip

a few pics as we arrived in Charleston after the 2.5 hour drive from the house straight down Rt 17.. gotta love that Charleston Ravenel Bridge ...a walk along the Battery thru the streets of the Historic District.. then on over to the Marina and 'Pineapple Park' checking out what Cruise Ship was in town and back along Rainbow Row of colorful houses along E. Bay Street... spoke to a few peeps that were on it-- it was the Caribbean Princess that left Ft Lauderdale with stops in Charleston then NYC on its way up thru New England and Nova Scotia and down the St Lawrence River to Quebec City-- a familiar itinerary to us since we did that last part in May and June for 28 days ..
BTW it sure is tuff when one is on a 'die-et' ( again) to visit Charleston and having to miss partaking of all their restaurants for lunch-- one must adapt.. or not be able to go on our next 79 day cruise in September... waaaaa... waaaaaaa  :)
