arrival in Heraklion, Crete, Greece before a non-sunrise on a cloudy soon to be rainy morning.. a bust of a day weatherwise-- severe storms... high winds ..waterspouts.. an uglee morning so far.. w-e-t is the word of the day
while having breakfast out on the Lido Deck-aft docked in Heraklion off our starboard side between the mountains and our dock in the inshore waters-- a waterspout that danced around heading toward us on the ship before it dissipated..
stayed onboard- a wise choice.. 50+kt winds while docked in Heraklion a lil' while ago.. caused Captain to pull in the gangway.. a cracked concrete pillar on the dock from the winds let loose one of our mooring lines.. still a lot of lightning.. thunder and heavy rain.. we are dry watching from our Verandah on Deck 5.. a counter-clockwise storm rotation like a tropical storm/ hurricane / typhoon type
waterspout heading toward us |
