Day 7-- Quebec City

ahhhhh..the Sun.. a welcomed sight ..yippee.. a 506am Sunrise as it fought off some low clouds.. a beautiful early morning as our ship sails down the St Lawrence River and  makes its approach to the port of Quebec City .. one of our top favorite cities to visit..

it'll be a shortened day ashore today as the Captain advised he has to leave early enuff so that the ship is on a time schedule to be able to access under the first 2 bridges south of the city with the higher than normal water levels in the river from extreme runoffs from all the rain and melting snowcaps in this area to get to Montreal tomorrow morning .. the 3rd bridge near Montreal is inaccessible because of those high water levels so we'll be at a temporary docking  terminal north of the city tomorrow.. one must adapt  :)

a walk about Quebec City-Old Town both levels using the Funicular then on over to the Market on the waterfront and lastly to a nice cafe' for a Croissant java breakp..up to 56* and sunny by noon time

... we left at 340pm earlier than normal to make the required clearance between the river and the bridges..  officially and I got this from the ship's staff from the ship's  bridge there was just 5 feet Clearance.  that was at the minimum that the ship was allowed.. just made it...
