soooo.. I made it out to the beach

looks like the Cortisone shot from the doctor visit yesterday kicked in so I made it over to the beach early before sunrise once again.. shoulda picked a better --and shorter-- walk rather than the long way across the dunes walkway at 40th street.. too late I was there already.. took longer than normal as I dogged it a bit.. 'walking on eggshells' in slow motion.. one must adapt.. nice sunrise .. plenty of shore birds.. the Shrimpers were out in force-- I counted 14 Shrimp Boats between a half mile and a mile off the beach in/around Little River Inlet .. normally this time of year they go further south down to Charleston, SC-- about 100 miles south of us .. with that many boats concentrated nearby they must be doing good dragging their nets.. 35*.. light wind so not as bad as it could have been.. still brrrr  :)

low-lying Fog over the mouth of the Calabash River before Sunrise
Shrimp Boat just off the beach before Sunrise
a couple of dog-walkers
shorebirds
a closer view-- one of many

Shrimp Boats and a breaking wave
fog on the pond
Great Egret over the foggy pond
Woodstork flying over the lake
