our port today was Civitavecchia- the port for Rome.. since it was a short day and we have been to Rome many times in the past we walked about the local town- also a familiar place for us.. after hopping the shuttle from the ship into town it was down main street thru the shopping area over to the park on the bay.. stopped by St Francis of Assisi Cathedral.. then on over a couple of streets to the Mercato Markets.. Pat got her cheeses and goodies in the inside market and since they know we were sailing away back home they cryovacked them for her as in the past- nice folks.. the markets were crowded today.. as we walked back we made our usual stop at our favorite local cafe' for some cannolis and baba rum pastries along with cookies and cappuccinos.. back to the shuttle and on to the ship.. another pretty sunny day..
