wow..wow..wow what a day in one of our super favorite ports in the Med.. our families both came from the Naples area way back in time.. we arrived in Napoli just before Sunrise with Mt Vesuvius in full view.. off the ship into the city which is just a short walk across from the cruise terminal.. a walk thru the famous mall then thru the shopping district before heading a couple of streets away into Piazza Plebiscito square at noon.. there is always an event going on there and today did not disappoint.. 3 members of the elite Italian Miliary paratroopers- 2 makes and 1 female- jumped from a helicopter high above us and one by one parachuted into the middle of the Piazza right in front of us.. I'll post the video I took whenever the ship's internet allows me to at a later time.. from there we headed over to our favorite 'locals' cafe and bistro the Grand Cafe' where we have become close friends with a few of the staff.. I ordered my Margarita Pizza of course- hay this is where pizza began- and Pat ordered her Broccoli Rabe- call friaritelli here as well as homemade Gnocchi.. a great reunion with the girls and staff who we see every year we visit.. for dessert some fantastic pastries as we left for the walk back to the ship.. what a day.. along with great sunny weather..
