left the house Monday morning for the near 12 hour drive up to Long Island just east of NYC to visit family for the Christmas holidays.. with all the rain and the Nor'easter storm up ahead of us decided to leave at 9am rather than 4-5am our usual time.. smooth drive all the way with some backed up heavy traffic along the Belt Pkwy as we entered Brooklyn off the Verrazano Bridge which is the normal.. lots of flooding earlier on some major roads earlier in the day but not affecting us though.. as some of you know- my countdown begins
