Day 15- Amber Cove, Dominican Republic-- Veterans Day

VETERANS DAY -- a salute to all my fellow Veterans and especially to all my fellow Vietnam Veterans and a big salute to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so all of us can be free.. a-ten-hut !!!

no sunrise this morning with rain showers lasting until we docked at 7am in Amber Cove, Dominican Republic and off/on until it finally started to clear at 930am.. we were off the ship and into the cruise complex of shopping and a couple of large pools and bars/restaurants ..actually it is a favorite stop of ours over the years since Carnival Corp- the parent company of Holland America- built the complex.. just a super nice relaxing place.. had one short rain shower pass thru so it was an excuse to have lunch poolside at one of the couple of bars and restaurants. chicken and cheese quesadillas with a 'touron' pina colada. after lunch a short 30 steps over to the pools and lounges under a palm tree until we reboarded the ship around 2pm..  watched the Zipliners do their thing right above us..no crowds like yesterday.. we were the only ship in town..  dinner in the Canaletto this evening.. Vongole rules!

say it ain't so
