whoa.. an even bumpier sail from yesterday's port of Kona to the east side of the Big Island of Hawaii at Hilo.. the closer we got the bigger the swells .. the forecast called for rain all day.. but luckily it held off until noon.. we took the shuttle from the port into town and were back onboard by 1130am.. lunch at the NY Pizza and Deli.. a nice 'Pastrami Reuben' just to be different.. we were just informed that due to persistent high winds at 50 kts in Maui that we would be staying here in Hilo overnite and thru tomorrow evening bypassing our Maui stop.. we are due to be back in Hawaii in about 2 weeks on Part 2 of our cruise in addition to Tahiti and the French Polynesian islands
