on
an early pretty Tuesday morning before Sunrise decided the last minute
to skip doing my usual 'over to the island and beach trek' ...seeing that
the weather was going to cooperate we headed down to Charleston, South
Carolina-- a 2+ hour drive straight down Rt 17.. been there many times
in the past... it makes a great day-trip for us especially in these
chaotic 'stay at home' times.. off we went leaving the house at 645am on
our drive southbound.. our first stop-- Costco in Mt Pleasant, SC just
this side of the Charleston Ravenel Bridge-- we made it there for
'seniors only hours' at 9am.. by 10am we were back on track for the
short ride crossing the Ravenel Bridge heading to East Bay Street and
the Battery Park-Rainbow Row Historic District in downtown Charleston..
as per our usual we walked the Battery snapping as many pics as we
could.. afterwards just north of where we parked a stop also at Rainbow
Row.. a super nice day as the temps quickly rose up to 57* with not a
cloud in the most welcomed blue skies.. No wind.. calm as could be.. and
very few if any people around.. just a couple of joggers..a few
others.. the place was empty .. the City Ordinances requiring Masks be
worn.. so all was well.. a great day in one of our favorite places to
visit
