Day 22 Rome, Italy

a very early morning tour leaving the ship at 715am for the long 2.5 hour bus ride into downtown Rome from the cruise port at Civitavecchia.. our tour was of the Vatican Museum..the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica.... a wow tour with  the preservation of the art works of Michaelangelo and other artists..NO PHOTOS were allowed inside the Sistine Chapel...... unfortunately rain dampened the day as we continued our bus tour after a nice lunch set up for us at a pretty Italian restaurant.. Lasagna was on the menu for most of us...  a panoramic tour on the bus  thruout the City in the continued rain before we headed back on a drive back to the ship marred by an accident on the freeway that blocked us making the ride a 2.5 hour grind.... a quick meal in the Lido rather than rushing up to the dining room... overall a long day but we finally were able to see the Sistine Chapel after this our third try at it in as many years..a 'virtual tour' of the  Sistine Chapel
