Day 26 Palermo, Sicily, Italia

arrived here this morning on the northwestern coast of Sicily...our tour was up to Mount Pelligrino and a panoramic view of the city of Palermo.. a stop in the seaside town of Mondello allowed us to taste the pasties and capuccino... the ride back took us thru the city center passing a number of historic spots including the two large opera houses that Palermo is noted for..a beautiful clear day with temps in the mid 60's .. when we got back to the ship around 1230pm ... we decided to go back out again on our own stopping for a pizza lunch...we then found out that we would be staying overnite in Palermo due to the severe storm--a Typhoon-- that hit Cagliari, Sardinia,Italy today causing massive floods and turmoil... we also were told that we would not be stopping on the island of Cagliari as planned for tomorrow and would be heading for Cartegena our next port getting there on Friday
