early morning at the beach with Tropical Storm Chantal

Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall this early morning at around 3am just south of Myrtle Beach in Litchfield SC and south of us..

while checking out the Sunset Beach PierCams at 630am decided to join the lone beachgoer as I headed over to the beach.. as I arrived the Gazebo parking lot was near empty as I walked on to the beach.. 30+mph winds out of the South coming off the ocean.. a light rain off/on ..the wind gusts were higher as it picked up to 35+mph saw a couple of dog-walkers well off in the distance to the East thru the hazy blowing sand ..no pier-peeps on the Pier this morning.. the surf was whitewater-ruff with the Pier itself taking a pounding.. one other camera peep nearby.. maybe saw a dozen peeps the entire half hour I was there.. left the beach at 715am over across the Bridge to the ICW at the boat landing-mini pier..
