Day 13-- Venice day 2

day 2 in Venice on our overnite stay.. we were off the ship by 9am with plans to head to San Marco square once again.. the Sunday crowds of yesterday continued into today but maybe not as bad-- or was that just wishful thinking.. looked crowded to me :).. anyway after deciding the long line to get into the Basillica was way too long decided to head across the back streets/allies over to the Rialto district just for a look see at the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge.. walking the alleyways with its myriad of shops we heard voices calling us.. our good friends from many previous cruises were walking right by us.. Diane and Diann are on a Land Tour thruout Italy staying at a local hotel.. what are the chances of crossing paths in the midst of all this crowded chaos.. but they were there..  lots of hugs and more hugs as we chatted for a good while..  a super surprise ..a wow moment for all of us... after we parted ways we continued heading to the Rialto district... snapped some good pics.. and headed back to San Marco square where we decided to get on the Hop On Hop Off WATERBUS.. who woulda thunk it..  headed over to Lido Island then on to our intended stop at Murano Island famous for the Murano Glass Factory..  had a nice quiet stop at a local small cafe with some Capucinno and Italyun pastries.. did some Murano glass shopping before heading back to our ship.. a super great day... wow this is one crowded place though..
