hurricane hunting at the beach

no fishing in the surf today... Arthur  has 'o-fish-ally' become a Cat 1 Hurricane .. drove over to the beach just after 6am.. the Pier was open.. the bands and rain squalls came up quickly as I got on the beach..rain was 'stinging' as the winds were out of the ESE at 20-25 and gusting a lot stronger... I pulled out of the Pier parking lot and this guy loaded with fishing gear pulls in.. might need a 1# sinker --maybe an anchor--  to hold bottom with this kinda surf...saw a couple of surfers heading on over to the island as I was leaving.. .. forecast has Obx getting the brunt of Arthur later today... just a 'ducky' kinda early morning
