our last morning at my BIL's out on Long Island..woke up early as usual to 29* temps..some kinda start of spring up in the northeast...brrrrr....will be leaving here in the next hour for south Joisey for a couple of days to see our friends Rosie and Bob before heading south on the rest of the trip home..
first arrived in Brooklyn and took some pics of my old church from back in the 1950's and 60's--Guardian Angel--on Ocean Parkway.. workers were inside restoring the flooring..still looking very good ...then stopped by my cousin Mary at the rehab center on W 27th Street in Coney Island to say goodbye for now.. she is doing very well ..also stopped to take some pics of the old neighborhood in Coney Island.. some of the familiar places like the Cyclone--the 'best-est of the best' wooden built roller coaster ever.. the Parachute Jump.. Totonnos Pizza on Neptune Ave... and of course Nathan's --the frankfurter/hot dawg stand that put it on the map in the 1920's.. they have been closed since Hurricane Sandy came thru and flooded the area .. no target date to open yet... also passed by the Met's Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball stadium..
