finally a sunny day

part of the 'treasure hunt'.. but over on Ocean Isle Beach.. actually while me and my nephew were surf fishing the 'gang' brings them to us... found two in the beach house pool when they all were getting into it.. who woulda thunk it.. a ghost crab ..must be a good luck find--the sun came out   .. so it was sunny..sunny..sunny..yippee.. the 'gang' set out to head down to Myrtle Beach at Broadway at the Beach.. it's 'touron-time' at Build-a Bear.. 

finally we got a break from the storms mid-afternoon.. along with my nephew decided to wet a line in the surf on Ocean Isle Beach.. had the room as the beach-goers were not right around us.. just call me 'Rocket-Man' using an Abu 6500 CS Rocket casting reel--still a big favorite of mine in the surf
water temps 84* ..which means no fish of course with stormy churned up uglee brown water.. had fun at the beach house that they have all this week..

and a personal anniversary for moi.. I retired 28 years ago today and continue to feed ravenously in the deep civil service feeding troughs.. lovin' it :)

some early mornings are just not so nice-- uglee is a better word.

over to the beach at 550am a half hour before sunrise.. even though plenty of clouds decided to go on at 40th street.. a couple of storms passed by well offshore.. actually was looking to snap a 'Moon shot' in the west but way too hazy and more clouds.. didn't run into any rain while I was there.. just an uglee early morning.. right after the non-sunrise at 621am looked down toward Myrtle Beach--another storm much closer to the beach heading my way.. plenty of dog-walkers out there walking down toward the Inlet.. I beat feet figuring it didn't look so good.. .. crossed the Bridge and went over to the Park on the ICW to snap a couple... then the fireworks began-- monster long bolts of lightning just off the beach hugging the coast..not nice

just when the sun pops out a lil' bit this morning.. on comes the thunderstorm... then again and again.. all morning and afternoon so far.. same-same " what a revoltin' development this is " 
you will note my Avalanche is NOT out in the rain but all cuddled up in the dry garage .. the Traverse is getting a bath

finally.. after days of rain and storms.. a lil' bit of early morning SUN.. ahhhhh. turned into a nice pretty day 85* temps.. just a small spritz of a shower in the late morning

as the off/on thunderstorms continue to hit the entire southeast coast and our area... I found the only ones who are enjoying it-- while I was down in Myrtle Beach today at a local pond.
