left Ft Pierce enroute to Ft Lauderdale.. dropped off the Hertz rental and shuttled over to the port.. at the terminal met some old friends we've sailed with before.. at 1130am began boarding the Veendam.. just 2 days ago we found out that we got a complimentary Upgrade--NOT an Upsell-- from our regular Outside room to a Verandah .. looks like all high day 5 star mariners got this Upgrade-- a GOOD one..
it was next up to the Lido 'boo-fay'for a nice roast beef lunch.. Ron and Barbara met us there as they were onboard already having embarked the ship in NYC..
then it all began.. they were all here.. the usual suspects''-- passengers we've met from doing this cruise 6x prior-- there are some characters in the mix.. the Oriental gent 'whats-that' at the Lido midnite boo-fays from the very first time we did this cruise back in 2011.. it was incredible passenger after passenger who we sailed with before.. we were pleasantly surprised to see our old friend Vincent,the assistant dining room manager in the main dining room.. we know him for 15 years first sailing with him on the Volendam.. also the Dining Room Manager Ferdinand was there another old friend.. a nice way to start this 49 day cruise.. a great day
