did hell freeze over... this is a first

Pat got up early and went out with me to the beach getting there before sunrise this morning.. a crazy and wild red sky greeted us as we got onto the beach a half hour before sunrise.. what a sky!.. with the low cloud cover the sunrise itself was a bit subdued ... 61* this morning.. a lot warmer than the two previous high 40's early mornings... no sweatshirts today...we walked down to the inlet jetties--about a 5 mile walk.. I guess it's good to be walking more to help shed some pounds .. afterwards overcast skies moved in for most of the day with temps getting up to the high 70's

a panorama before sunrise

after sunrise as the sun peeks thru above the low clouds

somehow this Corps of Engineers marker washed ashore

a shotgun shell casing
fishing in the Inlet
a headboat passing thru the Inlet headed offshore
gulls gathered on a sandbar

the famous Kindred Spirit Mailbox on Bird island

had to add to the diary
Pelicans about to dive on some bait
as we were leaving no one else around
