nice early morning.. quiet

a nice early morning for a drive to the beach before sunrise.. 61*..light wind.. pretty quiet as just a few dog walkers were out and about.. a nice day sunny and 79* in the afternoon..

 

just a 'low clouds early morning'

 forecast was for clear skies.. until I got over to the island..  heavy low cloud cover ruined any chance of a sunrise so of course I passed on going on to the beach...  stopped at the lake to wet a line.. nada..no hits.. turned into a nice sunny day.. 75*

the sun is back

after a couple of early mornings of clouds a drive over to the beach before Sunrise for the first time since I've been back from our trip south to the islands.. pretty quiet for an early Sunday morning.. my guess is that the gas shortage in this area along the east coast has something to do with that.. only 49*.. got up to 76* in the afternoon with sunny skies all day

 

heading home--a long day

said our goodbyes to all the family just after 10am as we headed out on the ferry from St John to St Thomas to catch our mid-afternoon flight back home.. stopped downtown Charlotte Amalie for lunch at the Green House .. then on over to the Airport..   headed for our first stop--Atlanta... then a 2 hour wait for our connecting flight to Myrtle Beach where we picked up our rental car..  on the drive home saw a gas station open at 11pm with only 3 cars in line.. gassed up with this ongoing gas delivery interruption all along the east coast with most gas stations closed with no gas on hand..  a long day but we had a great week seeing our family for the first time in a long while .. well worth it

another pretty day

our last full day on St John ..it was a family beach day ..perfect weather.. 82* and sunny..  afterwards we all went out for dinner at a local restaurant in downtown Cruz Bay

another day of fishing

 my nephew and his lil' guy along with moi broke away from the group and fished the bay for a short while.. squirrelfish.. parrotfish and small sharks kept us busy.. all catch and release.. headed back to the dock after a couple of rain squalls passed thru

 a nice quiet day on this Mother's Day Sunday with family.. just relaxing at the pool and beach
