a nice sunrise.. and a day trip down to Charleston

a nice early Friday morning at the beach... followed by a last minute day trip down to Charleston once again-- just a 2+ hour drive south for us.. a nice walk around Rainbow Row .. and along the Battery into Battery Park and the Historic district of old homes.. decided to have lunch at the Crab House on the Wappoo Creek that leads into the Ashley River and Charleston Bay... a beautiful day.. back home by 5pm

a drive over to the beach at 545am before sunrise.. 80* ..with a nice breeze out of the southwest that made for a pretty morning.. a heavy low bank of clouds delayed the sunrise but patience prevailed after 20 minutes.. plenty of 'tourons' were out and about-- summer season is in full swing.. sunny thruout the day.. 86*

an 'almost' partial Solar Eclipse

the rain and clouds continue nearly every early morning ..well so much for a partial solar eclipse at sunrise this early morning -- or it was supposed to be.. 12% coverage down this far south.. forecast was for cloudy skies and rain.. with a light drizzle the entire drive I went over to the island anyway before sunrise and stopped along the causeway .. I guess you could call it a 'virtual partial solar eclipse' with my having to use the Sky Map app on my Note 20 phone to follow along

early morning clouds did not make for a happy sky.. no sunrise.. after clouds thruout the morning and the forecast for more rain that luckily didn't happen the afternoon had the sun out .. heat and humidity for the rest of the day.. 81*..

at least some are happy with all these clouds and off/on rain we've been having --and will be with us for at least another week.. the resident 'quack-quack duck family' on our street.. as well as our Gardenia plants that love this humidity.. not even a hint of sun all day today.. supposed to be raining early tomorrow morning at the sunrise hour..

after over a month without any appreciable rain.. the rain has finally gotten here for the past 2 early mornings.. unfortunately it will be with us for the next week or more according to the latest forecast..
