another nice morning at the beach

on the drive over to the beach this morning at dawn about 20 minutes before Sunrise stopped at the mouth of the Calabash River-- nice reflections as cold 32* air meets the 58* river water...a few more from this morning at Sunrise.. a stop to 'wet a line' by the lake on the drive home-- one 'bump' no takers

a crisp quiet early morning

31* and NO wind as I made my way down to the west end of Sunset Beach island at 40th street.. no one around except for a couple of dogwalkers down the beach a half mile west of me toward the jetties.. they sure must have gotten here early maybe 6am or so..  lots of low clouds made for an interesting sunrise.. a stop at the Sunset Beach Veterans Park on the mainland just across the bridge for a quick few pics at the ICW ( Intracoastal Waterway)

Geminids-- meteor lightshow

early morning after midnite was out to about 130am .. wind was howling.. only a couple of other 'crazies' out and about... many small meteors seen in the southeast and southern skies.. a couple of long streakers.. not nearly as many or spectacular as was hyped.. at least not on this dark beach .. " would you like to wish on a star......."

an even 'kewler early morning

left the house for the drive to the beach well before sunrise at 29*..   warmed up nicely ---  30* as I parked the truck at 40th Street on the west end..  sure was a bit on the chilly side with the wind blowing across the dunes walkway as I headed over to the beach... even the local deer were hiding this morning

dog-walkers abound

it's Christmas on the beach

back at the beach-- home sweet home

up and out early for the short drive over to the beach for a few sunrise snaps-- clear skies.. sun looked warm but wasn't at 36* with a WNW 10 mph wind.. crispy with only a handful of dog-walkers around.. nice and quiet .. already missing Half Moon Cay

I left my mark--this says it all

welcome back to this crapola weather

at 430am  35* .. now at 9am 35* and sunny---- wooo woo  suxxxxx... would have stayed on for another 2 weeks.. unable to get a one way Hertz rental for the drive back on 12/22..   it was a giveaway--  $564 for 14 days.. not as good as our FREE Upgrade to a Verandah from an Outside Cabin for the 49 day adventure but it woulda worked nicely  .. you know what this means--traveling in a northerly direction next week-- except if it snows  c'mon snow

enroute home- Ft Lauderdale

our last sunrise at sea as we just cut Port Everglades Inlet for Ft Lauderdale arrival..running about 1-2 hours late as we had an emergency Med Evac just after we left Half Moon Cay yesterday afternoon--had to make the stop 12 miles  across the way at Princess Cay for the closest  nearby airport on Eleuthera..  the drive n/b on I-95 started off nicely with 81* temps and sunny.. at St Augustine the temps dropped like a rock down to 62*.. by Jax it was 44* and raining and stayed that way for the rest of the 11+ hour drive..  a great 49 day cruise ..what's next---ha-ha-ha-ha
