nice to see the Sun again..
after so many days of clouds and rain
it was nice to be greeted at the beach before sunrise with the sky on
fire this early morning.. a stop at the lake on the way home to see 'my friends'

dodged a Tropical Storm.. again
looks like we got lucky again.. dodged another Tropical Storm.. ran
offshore from us about 30 miles out-- about halfway between the beach
and the GulfStream.. rained overnite less than 1".. was supposed to get
5+ inches.. and 40 mph winds.. got neither.. right now the storm is
headed up the coast north of us just offshore from Wilmington NC ..
probably hit the OBx and Va Beach today as it rides the coast then
offshore to the Northeast..

a non-Eclipse
didn't look too good in the early morning and got worse as the start of the Total Solar Eclipse got nearer.. cloudy skies turned to thunderstorms starting around 1pm all the way thru the Eclipse window until 410 pm.. for once the weather people were correct unfortunately as they had the forecast showing 50-60% chance of rain for today's eclipse all the way back from last week.. a couple of minutes after the Eclipse ended the clouds parted and the Sun popped out.. who woulda thunk it
