a salute this day to those in our military who have paid the ultimate sacrifice so we all could enjoy our freedom... as a fellow Veteran I thank them one and all..
a pretty early morning at the beach.. 53* though and brrrr... to me it seemed a bit crowded even down on the west end at 40th street on this holiday morning .. a nice day overall sunny and 80* thru the afternoon
drove over to the island anyway.. well the forecast from yesterday was correct.. thunderstorms in the area thruout the night.. cloudy skies all day today.. early morning temps at 60*.. brrrrr.. only got up to 65* and cloudy thruout the entire day.. uglee.

a nice early Saturday morning as I drove over to the beach .. yesterday's cloud filled morning was a bust.. winds were up blowing thru at 25mph on the beach.. haven't seen this much wind in a long while.. another hot sunny day as temps rose to 80* in the afternoon.. rain is in the forecast tonite -- first rain in a while

clouds filled the skies on this early morning.. another 'late-sunrise' ..temps up to 80* in the day
a Full Moon..a Blood Moon.. a total Lunar Eclipse.. on this early Wednesday morning.. snapped this at the very beginning of the Lunar Eclipse at 536am-- the left side shows the eclipse shadow.. within a few minutes the moon was hidden unfortunately behind the low clouds and heavy haze in the western sky.. it was then on to the beach for a nice sunrise at 606am with plenty of peeps out and about sky watching.. 73*... then a hot sunny day into the high 80's
530am--a drive to the beach before sunrise.. 72* with no wind.. more and more peeps out every day as the summer 'touron' season seems to have begun early this year.. the dog-walkers and the Turtle Watchers Club were also out and about.. sunny all day.. 91* and 'cookin'
with absolutely no chance of a sunrise I decided to drive over to the island anyway.. forecast was for mostly cloudy skies--they were wrong.. solid heavy pea-soup thick fog was the call of this early morning.. so I changed course and stopped at Veterans Park on the mainland side of the bridge.. and waited.. a few pics what this early morning was like.. turned into a nice sunny day after the fog 'burnt off' ..76*
