Day 4 - Old San Juan...and New Years Eve

arrived in Old San Juan a half hour later than our scheduled 12 noon time passing thru the Inlet across from El Morro Fort..  a nice pleasant and sunny 80* day with a strong breeze.. just a walk about town and up the hill a short distance to Castillo San Cristobal.. one of the 2 forts in this old city.. have my National Parks Senior Pass so getting in was the right price-- free..

Day 3-- Grand Turk

docked on this quiet Sunday morning in Grand Turk ..  79*.. sunny   nice breeze.. only ship in town.. quiet .. place was empty compared to when we were here in November on the Koningsdam.. Cheeseburger in Paradise was the words for today..lovin' it  :)

Day 2-- at Sea

a pretty early morning at sunrise at sea  passing along the Eleuthera, Bahamas northeast coast running southeast.. but oh that southeast wind--blowing at 25-30 knots ..up on the Sky Deck on the bow--woo woo damn that wind be strong..  a couple of 'better hold on to the railing' kinda moments with the ship bobbing like a cork in what  looks like 10-15 foot seas ..no one else around up top this early.. nice.. make that super nice..next port Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos tomorrow morning.. good stuff

Day 1 --Ft Lauderdale onboard the Veendam

7am.. the 2 hour drive from Ft Pierce  to Ft Lauderdale..
boarded the Veendam at 1130am for the New Year's cruise.. lunch in the Lido.. welcome home 5 star mariners cocktail party in the Crow's Nest at 2pm  ..can't forget that safety drill at 315pm..

all in all great to be back onboard a nice ship.. a small ship ahhhhhhh :)

on the road again

left for the drive south at 4am... a cloudy day..only rain we hit was where else--Florida of course.. arrived Ft Pierce mid afternoon for the overnite stay.. leave here for the remaining 2 hour drive to Ft Lauderdale tomorrow early morning..then board the ship for 28 days thru the Caribbean with a couple of stops in Cuba
