clouds and more

heavy cloud cover in the early morning hours before mostly nice sunny blue skies in the afternoons for the past 4 days..today the sun finally broke thru the clouds by mid-morning up to 67*F.. turned into a nice day.. a WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect with the chance of an Ice Storm developing thruout the area and west.. 72 hour radar shows us with just rain(green) but everyone is preparing for the worst.. usually we don't get the ice storms that hit inland mainly because the Ocean Water Temps are still at 53*F that causes a buffer on to land and west of us.. we shall see..  hoping for the best.. snow is okay actually but an ice storm causes havoc..

'wet' it is today

looks like a wet all day event for us as a long line of storms and rain from the Gulf thru the Northeast along the entire East Coast  makes its way thru our area.. an empty beach.. a rainy wet beach☔☔☔

West End - Sunset Beach before Sunrise

this early morning it was back at my old spot on the beach at 40th street on the West End.. 41* but windy-- almost made it feel 'kewler' than yesterday in the high 20's.. being this is a Saturday of a holiday weekend there were a lot more peeps out especially all the dog-walkers that use the 40th street dunes walkway to enter the beach then head toward the West end and Bird Island and the Little River Jetties.. lots of heavy low clouds made for a 'late Sunrise'..

dog-walkers were out -- and more followed

'frozen' at the beach-- before Sunrise

on this calm clear early morning I drove over to the beach nearby the Pier once again.. 27*F with no wind.. arrived with just 4 cars in the parking lot  ..saw 7 other peeps walking with a couple of those walking their dog .. calm seas.. a nice but chilly Sunrise.. didn't stay out there too long

a colorful Sunrise at the beach

a lil bit of 'Sun Sun Sun'.. off to the beach this early morning before Sunrise.. stopped nearby the Pier on the beach .. 44*F with very light wind if any.. better than yesterday morning's 29*F.. just a handful of peeps walking about.. maybe a dozen total the entire time I was there.. 'red sky in the morning' as the forecast for later today showed rain by mid-afternoon.. colorful it was.. and worth the drive over..
