a sliver of an opening in all the clouds for a 'short sunrise' as I ventured up to Deck 14 -Sky Deck... forecast and radar still calling for strong storms and heavy rain thruout the day today.. in port with the Volendam that was docked well away from us on the other side of the port.. it is currently doing a 133 Day Pole to Pole Grand Voyage..
a mostly cloudy early morning with no chance of a sunrise as we head NNE toward Porto Leixoes, Portugal along the Atlantic west coast .. a Mariner's Recognition event was held in the BB King lounge at 1115am.. the sun came out by mid-afternoon with temps in the low 60's.. dinner on dressy nite in the dining room followed by a set of music in Billboard Onboard and the Rolling Stone lounge.. heavy rain is in the forecast for tomorrow in Porto Leixoes, Portugal..
where are we.. FUNCHAL...yippee.... a top favorite place of ours to visit.. we love it here.. a most beautiful island.. the day started off with clouds and a chance of rain.. not so as the sun was shining and 70*F.. it was off on the shuttle bus from the port into town.. a 20 minute wait on the cable car line.. as always it was well worth it.. the views from high above are spectacular.... a walk about nearby the Monte Sleigh ride then back down in town for some shopping and a stop at a local cafe for a cappucino and a goodie.. ..wish we were staying on an overnite like in years past.. what a great place to visit.. Hi Lucy 🥰😃.. a pretty sailaway just before 8pm as we sail north toward our next port of call- Porto Leixoes, Portugal
